Girls Leadership Development
CHILD OF THE FUTURE
I am a small child, but I am the person of the future.
I am the goodness of my land and I will do my best.
Teach me that my mind may accept the word of learning.
Learning is power; learning is the best in life today ever.

We are helping girls and women fulfill their dreams of education and personal choice with a participatory voice in their communities. PESS has developed the Girls’ Leadership Development Program (GLD), designed to support girls at Ayak Anguei Girls’ Primary Boarding and Tong Pagook Co-ed Primary Schools. The program will address female leadership development through a Girls Sports Empowerment soccer program, a Student Government for Girls by Girls program, and a girls Health Education Initiative focusing on feminine hygiene, reproductive rights and HIV education to support a girl’s ability to be a healthy active member of society.
PESS believes working with the school female staff on the following initiatives will develop South Sudanese girls with higher self-esteem and confidence that will allow them to become student representatives in the community decision making process. Girls will learn to network with others, gain greater self-knowledge, and develop the skills to become the future female leaders of their country.
