Gopmeth Primary School
Gopmeth Boma, Baidit Payam, Bor County, Jonglei State

“As elders of the community, we are very glad for the hard work which was established by Project Education South Sudan towards our community. Together, we can do more.”
– Chief Mayen Guut Agany
In 2005, Co-founders Carol Francis Rinehart and Isaac Khor Bher received security support from Abraham Deng Kuot, from the village of Gopmeth (Gammeth). An endearing relationship was established, which subsequently in 2007, lead to an invitation from Kuot to meet with village chiefs and elders. PESS committed to serving Gopmeth primary as an auxiliary school. A community built mud and corrugated iron school has been operating since 2008 serving 250 students P1-P3. The staff includes nine GoSS teachers (six part time), eight male and one female, and one Headmaster.
