Jonglei Hope Secondary Academy
Maar Boma, Pakeer Payam, Twic East County, Jonglei State

Our first trip in 2005 brought us to Maar, South Sudan. There was a an existing mud and thatch primary school, which has now been developed into Marc Nikkel Primary. The Reverend Bartholomeo Bol Deng escorted us on our journey and in return requested that a secondary school be built in his village. Both the community diaspora and Project Education South Sudan worked together to build Jonglei Hope Academy. It was completed in 2010. It is waiting to be opened by the community. Currently, the Twic East County Commissioner is working on making that happen in 2012.
