Tong Pagook Primary School

Pagook Boma, Baidit Payam, Bor County, Jonglei State

Our visit in Pagook 2008 began as a reunification of "Lost Boy" Daniel Gai with his father whom he had not seen in 20 years. Tong Pagook Primary School is the out-come of this precious reunion. Village elders and the Project Education South Sudan team met in March 2008 to discuss the possibility of constructing a permanent school in the area. Construction began on school facilities in 2009 and has continued through to present to replace the existing classrooms made of local mud and thatch. The coed school been operating since 2006 serving 365 students P1 through P8 with 8 GoSS employed teachers, one Head Master and one Head Matron.
